Welcome to our Capital Improvements Campaign
Capital Improvements Campaign: WHY?
Starting out as a mission church, St. Gregory’s has never had a big endowment. Important parts of our buildings and their systems range in age from 20 - 40 years old. Systems like roofs and HVACs are not designed to last more than fifteen years without replacement. So it is more than time to attend to those needs. Our physical home needs renewal, and needs us to invest in ourselves and this community that we love and the ministry we share.
Over recent years, the Vestry has sought input from the members of the parish. Our Nourish, Go, and Grow program, combined with your feedback, led us to identify key projects that need our attention:
Capital Reserve: having a well-funded capital reserve for non-regular expenses will help us avoid taking out loans to pay for necessary repairs. By not spending money on loans, we can better ensure the continuation of our many beloved and popular ministries.
Playground: St. Gregory’s future can be found in the faces of our children: families are an integral part of a thriving parish life. Our current playground needs professional attention so we can continue to offer a safe and welcoming place for our families with children.
Parish Hall Flooring: the carpet in the Parish Hall/Admin Building is quite old and needs to be replaced. We are considering alternatives involving either carpet tiles or vinyl planks combined with acoustic panels to enhance sound.
Organ: An organ provides a veritable symphony of sound; its distinctive power and tone lead us in song, setting the mood for Spirit-filled worship. After 40 years, our modest organ needs to be retired. A new organ would add beauty and depth to our worship for generations to come.
Labyrinth: a labyrinth is a sacred space that invites the community to come experience peace in God’s presence. A permanent, outdoor labyrinth is available to all, any time of day, without appointment: our personal need for meditative prayer does not always happen only during office hours.
How to Support Us
Almighty Lord, help us to listen and prayerfully consider what needs to be done. Help us to discern and follow your path for St. Gregory and our community as well as our place in it. And open our hearts to help us do what needs to be done.
At St. Gregory’s, we believe that God loves us whether we are giving or receiving. Whenever we are able, we seek to share our time, our talent, and our treasure to continue the work of the church in the community and the world, and give thanks to God for our many blessings.
We are accepting commitments and direct donations throughout 2024; pledged commitments are to be paid in full by December 31, 2028. Gifts may be made by check or cash, through the mail or in person at the church:
