Components of the Strategic Plan

The needs-driven Strategic Plan sets forth ministry priorities for St. Gregory and consists of six key components: vision, strategic directions, strategic focus areas, rationale, goals, and strategy implementation. The plan serves as a basis for allocating fiscal and volunteer resources. Effective implementation of the Strategic Plan will enable St. Gregory to achieve our vision.

Vision: A program-sized, culturally integrated parish, proclaiming and loving like Jesus with varied worship, music and outdoor spaces. (developed at Vestry Retreat, June 2019)

Strategic Directions: The overarching directions for the Strategic Plan are Nourish, Grow, and Go.

Strategic Focus Areas: These are priorities that define the work within each Strategic Direction--Nourish, Grow and Go. (determined by Nourish, Grow, Go subcommittees through a review of parishioner focus group and survey data)

Rationale:  A description of why these issues are important to the parish community and/or the greater community.  (researched by Nourish, Grow, Go subcommittees.)

Goals: These are the desired results within a Strategic Focus Area (Nourish, Grow, Go) that our parish commits to achieve. (developed by Nourish, Grow, Go subcommittees through a review of parishioner focus group and survey data).

Strategy Implementation: This roadmap includes actions, responsibility, timeline, and success indicators. For each goal, it delineates steps to be accomplished, by whom, by when, and measures of success leading to goal accomplishment.

Strategic Plan Accountability To facilitate communication with the Vestry regarding progress made toward accomplishing strategic plan goals, committee chairs will provide quarterly reports to their individual vestry liaison.  Note, the plan identifies committee chairs and committees responsible for each action. Those committees will initiate and oversee that action. Other committees, staff, parishioners may work with those committees as needed to accomplish the goal.

The timeline for each action is part of accountability. Committee chairs may report to the vestry any issues related to the timeline.

The Committee chair quarterly reports will contain the following:

Name of Committee:

Chair(s):

Quarter/Year Submitted:

  • Identify the St. Gregory the Great strategic goal(s) impacted in this report.

  • With respect to this strategic goal, what activities have been done since the last quarterly report?

  • What activities are scheduled to be done before the next quarterly report?

  • Identify challenges that need to be considered in order for the strategic goal to be accomplished.

  • Attach additional information to share with or have approved by the vestry. (This could include items such as budget requests, requests for contracts, etc.)
